Tom Holmes has over 40 years experience with analog and digital electronics and programming.  Most recently he has served for eleven years as a customer-facing Applications Engineer for Agilent Technologies helping customers mainly with RF/microwave measurements involving spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers and real time oscilloscopes at frequencies up to 110Ghz.

In his work with Agilent, Tom, quickly became a go to resource for the entire Agilent North American field organization on the topics of EMC and noise figure measurements. Having managed an EMC measurements lab for General Motors, Tom has extensive experience in EMC, RF and microwave measurements, electronics design and validation testing, and automotive electronics applications in general. He is an expert on the topic of problem solving and mitigation techniques to isolate and fix causes of electronic failures.

Tom holds a B.E.E from Kettering University, and holds three patents.   He has taught college level courses in EMC as well as many industrial courses on measurement theory and test equipment operation. Areas of expertise teaching expertise include EMC, spectrum analysis, RF network analysis, noise figure measurement, metrology, and digital modulation.

Tom has held an Extra Class amateur radio license since 1978 (N8ZM), having been first licensed in 1972. His other hobbies include jazz piano and Corvettes.
